This morning we docked in Skagen, from where I had booked a rather sedate tour around Skagen including time at the point where the North Sea and Baltic meet. Yet again the weather was very hot. I had researched this port and usually it is incredibly windy.
First stop was the highlight of my trip and a geographer’s paradise, the spit at the tip of Denmark where the North Sea collides with the Baltic. However I discovered this is not technically called as there are a series of straits between the two seas. So the North Sea meets the Kattegat.

Normally the collision’s creates huge waves but today was exceptionally calm. So I enjoyed a gentle paddle at the tip of Denmark where the water mixes.

Next stop, a small fishing museum, which included a hall remembering those lost at sea.

Then onto the sunken church. Over many centuries the sand has buried the church and all that remains today is the tower.

Back to that ship with time to explore Skagen independently.

Early evening sail away, then time for a catch up with friends in the bar before dinner and enjoyable evening entertainment.
