Autumn Cruise Adventure Day:6 Rotterdam

This morning there is a particular song by The Beautiful South I can’t get out of my head!

After a leisurely breakfast disembarked to join the coach for this morning’s excursion to Kinderdijk, an UNESCO world heritage site.

As with all excursions the outward journey is full of information. About an hour out of Rotterdam we arrived at Kinderdijk.

The windmills loomed out of the morning mist.

The mist lifted and more information was imparted on the workings of the system of draining the water and the workings of the windmills.

Inside the museum mill was too crowded as we snaked up and down ladders. The tour guide should have been more honest as some of the group really struggled with going up and down a ladder.

Back on the coach we travelled along the polder back to Rotterdam.

Back in Rotterdam I walked over the Erasmus bridge into town.

For lunch I had a lovely Stopfwaffel from a vendor stall.

Took the water taxi back to the cruise terminal.

Once back on board I quickly changed for dinner at The Limelight Club. Fabulous food and entertainment.

Performing at the Limelight was Lea Mead.

Another fantastic day.
